Dáša's bio
Dáša Raimanová is a London-Berlin-based documentary filmmaker from Slovakia, whose short documentaries have been commissioned by broadcasters including Al Jazeera Witness, ARTE and DW, reaching a worldwide audience of millions. Her independent documentary short ‘The Exhibition’ (2026) opened the GoEast Festival of Central and Eastern European Cinema in Germany and is currently touring, among others, human rights, Roma and LGBTQ+ film festivals, alongside outreach screenings organised by the European Roma Institute of Arts and Culture (ERIAC). Her short documentary ‘Gypsy Gadji’ (2024) won Best Short Documentary at Lucania Film Festival in Italy. ‘POLYLAND’ (2018), an activist documentary she directed and co-produced, screened internationally and became part of Amnesty International’s campaign against hate crimes in Poland. Alongside filmmaking, Dáša is part of the programming team in the documentary department at DW and works as a producer and programmer at Otherfield Film Festival, focusing on non-fiction and filmmaking processes in the UK.
Béla's bio
Béla Váradi is a Roma and queer visual artist whose work confronts erasure and political marginalisation across Europe. Based in London, he combines documentary photography and participatory practice to tell stories from communities shaped by war, poverty, and systemic discrimination. His work has appeared in The Guardian, Balkan Insight, and WOZ, and has been exhibited internationally, including at the Milan Triennale and Stiftung Kai Dikhas in Berlin and Queer Britain UK.
