Vito Palumbo was born at Agropoli (SA) in 1974. After his school studies, he moves to Rome to study acting at Accademia d’arte drammatica “Pietro Scharoff” and film direction and editing at NUCT. In 2009 his short film ‘ICE SCREAM’ after being announced as the Italian’s most awarded short film in the world, is turned into a Hollywood movie produced by Christian Halsey Solomon (American Psycho, New Rose Hotel) starring Laura Harring (Mullholland Drive) and Spencer Treat Clark (Il Gladiatore, Unbreakable). The short film was distributed in home video with the American blockbuster ‘Daybreakers’. In 2015, his short film ‘Child K’, produced by Colorado Film, gets the Cultural Interest of MIBAC and wins the Nastri d’Argento award. In 2018 he makes ‘U muschittieri’, a short film based on the true story of Giovanni Falcone’s childhood, a national hero. The short film is produced by Rai Cinema, and receives more than 20 awards and several TV screenings. Vito is also an acting, filmmaking, and editing professor, in different institutions throughout Italy, including the Università degli Studi di Bari where he teaches in the multimedia and audiovisual production lab.
