Born in Ahwaz, Iran in 1990, Parham came to The Netherlands as a baby refugee, growing up in Schiedam and Rotterdam until his mid twenties, when he moved to Amsterdam. After the death of one of his best friends, he wrote his debut novel, Arab, which was published by Prometheus in 2021. That year, he was selected for the “Dit is Aware” development program for autodidactic filmmakers. With his debut short Doeset Daram (“I Love You” in Farsi), he discovered a passion for visual storytelling that was both intimate and transformative. Last Shot, his second short film, continues to explore raw human emotions and the unspoken struggles of loss, giving voice to unheard perspectives and confronting the double standards that shape our collective memory.
