Sepehr Nosrati, born in 1998 in Gothenburg, is a writer and director based in Stockholm who graduated with a BFA in directing from Stockholm University of the Arts in 2025. His films often explore identity, power, and moral ambiguity through darkly absurd scenarios grounded in contemporary conflict. His latest short film, 175, a real-time political thriller about two revolutionaries who kidnap a politician’s child to stop a repressive law, premiered at Telluride Film Festival and is gaining momentum internationally. It will be broadcast on the Swedish National Television in 2026. His previous works include White Guilt, a socially charged satire that premiered at Hagabion in 2024, and Halv, an upcoming short going in production early next year. The project won Film Stockholm’s pitching prize and was later invited to the Norwegian Short Film Festival in Grimstad, where Sepehr pitched it through Screen Talent Europe and received an honorable mention. He was also selected as a talent at Bergmanveckan 2024. Sepehr is one of ten graduating directors from the Nordic region selected to pitch at Nordic Talents 2025 with his debut feature, a story about revenge and reconciliation between a Bosnian and a Serbian man during a corporate retreat in the Swedish mountains. His work blends political urgency with psychological complexity, often told through unpredictable, character-driven narratives.
