A 13-years-old girl imagines her first kiss in a very romantic and detailed manner. But, just like all important life events, it isn’t what she expects. Her pursuit after the perfect first kiss becomes a journey of dissillusionment and growth.
Una chica de 13 años sueña con un primer beso romántico y especial. Pero como todos los eventos importantes de la vida, no es lo que espera. Su desesperada búsqueda por ese momento idílico la acompaña en su camino hacia el fin de la inocencia.

Director’s statement
During the pandemic when the world changed in a way I could never have predicted, my story was born. The feeling of having no control on what the future holds for me was terrifying. My first kiss felt alike. A first kiss is a landmark event in the lives of most individuals. It was my first real romantic and intimate encounter with a stranger that contained emotions and saliva. It was an innocent yet significant moment, and after it life was not the same. My story takes that precious moment and uses it as a metaphor for the human experience of uncertainty. The realization that most of the time things are out of our control, and everything can collapse in an instant – is painful, sobering and empowering.
Mientras el mundo cambiaba en un modo inimaginable durante la pandemia, mi historia nació. La sensación de no poder controlar el futuro era espantosa. Como la sensación de un primer beso. Un primer beso es un evento único en la vida de las personas. Fue mi primer momento romántico e íntimo con un extraño lleno de emociones y saliva. Algo inocente, y aún así significativo, que me cambió. Mi historia parte de ese momento precioso y lo usa como una metáfora para la incertidumbre de la humanidad. El darse cuenta que la mayor parte del tiempo, no controlamos todo, y todo puede colapsar en un instante. Doloroso y aún así, empoderador.

Shimrit Eldis is an Israeli filmmaker. In 2015, she gradutated from the Atlantic Acting School in NYC. She participated in the STORY seminar by Robert Mckee, acted in several feature films and was a producer in the Israeli production company ‘Firma Films’. Lip Virgin is her first film.
